Board Members:

Benedict Leung – President, Director and Co-Founder

Benedict Leung is the managing partner of Leung & Company Chartered Professional Accountants, a public accounting firm. By his deep understanding of the society of Canada, mainland China and Hong Kong, Ben has been involved in various social activities and has been honoured with numerous awards.

梁萬邦先生深諳中港加的社會及經濟狀況,現為梁氏特許會計師事務所執行合伙人,同時啟動和參與了各種社會活動並獲得眾多殊榮。

Winnie Fung – Vice President, Director and Co-Founder

Winnie Fung has over twenty-five years experience in linking the East with the West in areas of economic development, professional training & personnel exchange.

Ms. Fung promotes cross learning and transfer of skills and technology, thereby fostering strong economic progress. With her experienced team, she organized numerous trade and study missions, international summit, business conferences, professional and leadership training, exchange missions projects and business incubation projects. She has developed an extensive network of experts, training professionals and contacts in the public sector and business communities both in Canada and China.

She is currently the President of Mississauga Chinese Business Association, and the Founding President of Brampton Chinese Business Association. She has been the Co-chair of the Confederation of Greater Toronto Chinese Business Association China Trade Mission for three consecutive terms.  This Trade Mission is renowned for bringing Canadian business and politicians to China and promoting bilateral trade and economic exchange. She also is a qualified mentor of a youth business start-up foundation.

Winnie graduated from the University of Hong Kong major in Economics and Management. She has contributed extensively in the business community since arriving in Canada in 1987.  In recognition of her efforts, she was the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal – a commemorative medal which honours significant contributions and achievements by individuals.

Isa Lee – Vice President and Director

Councillor, Ward 8 City of Markham

Isa Lee is a mother, community builder, an experienced news anchor, and a passionate cultural ambassador.

Isa currently serves as Councillor for Markham’s Ward 8 after being elected in 2018.  She was subsequently appointed Vice Chair of Community Services Committee, Co-chair of Markham Milliken Mills Children’s Festival, and is a member of the Advisory Committee of Accessibility, Race Relations Advisory Committee, and Cyclist and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (CPAC).

Having lived in Markham for over 20 years, Isa understands the needs of local residents very well. She is well-known in the community with more than a decade of work experience in journalism and media. She is a strong believer in community building and engagement as evidenced by her long-time participation in community organizations. This involvement has shaped Isa as a person and formulates her vision for the future development for the City of Markham.

Isa graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science (Political Science and History). She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Brian Cheng – Treasurer and Director

Brian Cheng, CPA, CA, is a Partner with MNP’s Assurance group in Toronto, focusing on private equity groups and technology companies. Brian delivers a range of accounting and advisory services to private equity firms, venture capital funds, technology companies and entrepreneurs looking to raise capital and fuel growth for their business, both domestically and globally.

Brian has worked extensively on the organization and operation of private investment funds at various stages of their life cycle. He advises private equity clients on complex business structure transactions, as well as tax reporting needs, on both their domestic and international investments.

Brian understands the technology-based markets in which his clients operate, allowing him to develop unique solutions to help entrepreneurs expand globally; and access funding through government programs and venture capital markets. Straightforward and very approachable, he provides clarity and transparency so clients can focus on running and growing their businesses.

Brian obtained his Masters of Accounting and Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management degrees from the University of Waterloo. He earned his Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant designations (CPA, CA) in Ontario and is a member of CPA Canada.

Jeffrey Shek – Vice President and Director

Jeffrey was called to the Ontario Bar in October 2002 after graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School and articling at the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. In 2003, he founded his general service law firm, offering legal services in real estate transactions, corporate and commercial law, family law, wills and estates, litigation, and dispute resolution.  Jeffrey operated his firm, which was based in Thornhill, for fourteen years.

In 2017, Jeffrey left private practice and joined the senior management team of a start-up mortgage brokerage.  His areas of responsibility include the company’s legal affairs, strategic planning, branch office network, marketing and training.

Jeffrey recently re-engaged the practice of law under a different MO – as CLO (Chief Legal Officer) of various small and medium size businesses, each on a fractional basis.  This is a cost-effective solution which allows SMEs to have their own in-house legal counsel and significantly enhance the legal knowledge and competence of their C-Suite, all without the payroll strain of a full-time lawyer’s salary.

Starting in September 2019, Jeffrey picked up a “side hustle” as part-time professor at Seneca College. He currently teaches courses in Canadian Business Law and Business Ethics for the college’s Business Studies Program at Newnham Campus.

Over the years, Jeffrey has contributed his much of his time and expertise to the Chinese Canadian community in the capacities of legal counsel and director of various not-for profit organizations.  He is currently Vice-President, Communications for the Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs and Vice-President, Internal for the Canada Hong Kong Alliance (Toronto).

Wayne Tsang – Vice President and Director

Wayne Tsang is currently a Business Account Manager at the Royal Bank of Canada who specializes in entrepreneurial solutions and financial reviews for businesses.  His years of experience in the financial industry has helped him to discover and anchor commercial solutions needed for businesses to grow and excel.

Wayne has acted as a Gala Co-Chair at the Closing Gala during the Canada Hong Kong Week 2016.  He has been active in the community and is also a Board member and Treasurer of Toronto Trillium Lion’s Club.

曾展翼是加港栛進會的董事會成員,並於2016年加拿大香港週期間在閉幕晚宴上擔任共同主席。他一直活躍在社區,同時他也在多倫多Trillium Lion’s Club擔任董事和司庫。 曾展翼目前是加拿大皇家銀行的商業客戶經理,專門負責企業的財務評估和給與企業專業的財務健議。他在金融行業多年的經驗幫助他尋找企業成長和發展所需的商業方案。

Teresa Che – Director

Teresa Che has worked in the import/export field for over 20 years where she acquired extensive knowledge of the logistics and freight forwarding industries. She specializes in global logistics strategy and has been a consultant for AWOT Global Logistics (Canada) Corporation since 2015.

William Chan – Director

Raised in the famous Real Estate City, Hong Kong, and a Real Estate Family, William has been connected to Real Estate as a conveyancing clerk after his under graduation in Hawaii. From closing residential transactions to multi- phases real estate developments, William has developed an interest in real estate while enjoys working closely with all aspects in Real Estate.

Thereafter, he took further steps to complete his Law Degree in Hong Kong and launched into the Real Estate sales career in Toronto. Enriched by his living experience in Toronto, one of the world most populated city, William focuses on the opportunities in the Condo Markets right here. He believes Condominium is the trend for the millennium generation.

He also shares a comprehensive knowledge in North Richmond Hill. Such as Lake Wilcox and Oak Ridges where his extended family is residing. With real life experience in different cities, such as Hong Kong and Beijing or the leisurely Honolulu, Hawaii, he loves to share all his knowledge in Real Estate from his family and experiences he gained from all Real Estate masters whom he encountered.

William also holds the current position (volunteer) Marketing Co-Chair of the 32nd Toronto International Dragon Boat Festival (“TIDBRF”) organized by the Toronto Chinese Business Association (“TCBA”), which the event is named top 100 events in the City of Toronto in 2019 by BizBash. William has been part of the TIDBRF since 2016 and prior to William’s appointment at TIDBRF, William has always been active in community service across the Greater Toronto Area.    

Kenneth Chin – Director

Kenneth Chin was born in Hong Kong and subsequently attended high school in Toronto and graduated from the University of Western Ontario.

After his graduation, he went back to Hong Kong and began his career as a Sales Manager leading the distribution of Intel Semiconductor products.  He then decided to immigrate to Canada and started running his business in computer distribution as well as business consulting.  For the past decade, he has also operated a tutoring centre for students of all ages.

Within the community, he has held and is still currently holding different leadership roles in a variety of organizations.  He is the Past President and Secretary of the Canada Chinese Computer Association and CCCA Foundation; Current and Past President of Markham Unionville Rotary Club; Past District Area Governor of the Rotary International and most recently he is the York Region Men Of Honour Outstanding Community Service Award Winner; Student Award Chair of the Markham Unionville Rotary Club; Ontario Central-Local Health Integration Network Community Nominations Committee; founding Director of Canada Hong Kong Alliance, Director of York Region Parents’ Association and Youth and Parents Association of Markham.

Alex Cho – Director
Born from an immigrant family and raised in Scarborough, Alex has been in the kitchen ever since he could remember. Alex learned his basic skills from his father, who is a renown chef in the Toronto Chinese community at a young age. He later moved on to culinary management and classic French cuisine in college. Working in the industry since childhood and throughout his college years, Alex is very knowledgeable in the hospitality industry. After college Alex travelled around Europe and Asia many times to study local cuisines of each region and their different cooking techniques and rituals. After expanding his knowledge, training his palette, and honing his skills, he returned to Toronto to once again learn from his father. Now with the recent opening of a third restaurant, Alex now owns 3 restaurants each with their own personality.
Casa Deluz Banquet Hall- A beautiful and large banquet hall that specializes in weddings and special events. Seating close to 1000 guests it is one of the biggest Chinese restaurants in Toronto for dim sum and dinner and events.
Very Fair Seafood Cuisine- serving high end traditional Chinese food. Specializing in wok stir fry, one of the best Chinese restaurants if you want the Chinese high heated wok “Wok Hay” taste. Also one of the Chinese BBQ stands in Toronto.
Fortune Villa- a smaller family style restaurant that offers great taste and affordability. More of a eastern style taste as well as more fusion style dishes for newer generations.

Tiana Chu – Director

You may recognize Tiana from her days in front of the camera as a program host for Fairchild Television and Radio during university life.  After graduating from the University of Toronto, she worked in the financial services industry in Hong Kong for almost ten years, where she gained valuable experience in compliance, insurance, mutual funds and investments.  Thereafter, Tiana developed into a seasoned entrepreneur while also obtaining her real estate agent and mortgage agent licences.

Tiana is the founder of T.H.E. Shop (“T.H.E.” stands for True Health Education).  Reflecting her desire to improve the physical and mental well-being of the general public, T.H.E. Shop is focused on the dissemination of knowledge and information about the benefits of water ionizers and Kangen Water® (also known as Electrolyzed Reduced Water), as well as their sales and distribution along with other products aimed at health and vitality.

Tiana has been a Director of the Canada Hong Kong Alliance (Toronto) since March 2019.  She is also the Director of the Markham, Richmond Hill & Vaughan Chinese Business Association (“MRVCBA”).  She was the Director of S.E.A.S. Foundation, 2018-2019.

Joseph Chaung – Director

Joseph is the Founder and President of C4P Inc which is specialized in product design and project development, sales and marketing of innovative products especially those in the green and alternative energy sector. With more than 30 years of experience in the product design and development industries in North America, Asia and Europe, Joseph has successfully worked with many inventors and designers in developing many new products.

As a Director of the Product Innovation Technology Advisory Committee, Humber Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, Joseph supports many Canadian university/college graduates in their start-up projects and business. He is a professional mentor for many Canadian industrial design graduates assisting and encouraging them to promote their inventions to the World. Joseph is currently a committee member of the Peel Region Police Chief’s Advisory Committee, and a Director of Safe City Mississauga.

Joseph has received many recognitions including a Canada Senate 150th Anniversary Medal, the 2019 Most Progressive Award from ACCE(Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneur), 2022 Platinum Jubilee Medallion from the Senate of Canada.

Herbert Moon – Director

門宗偉出生於香港,畢業於香港皇仁書院,再往美國路易士安納洲洲立大學進修,取得工商管理學士,主修會計,大學畢業後移民加拿大。

1981年加入星島日報多倫多辦事處工作,曾管理不同部門,至1993年獲委任為多倫多辦事處總經理兼董事。在1998年,升任為全加拿大星島日報董事總經理,直至2004年離職為止。

2005年再為胡仙博士創辦《加拿大商報》,出任社長一職至今。在任期間,將《加拿大商報》由多倫多起,擴展至全加拿大,包括温哥華、蒙特利爾、卡爾加里、及渥太華共五大城市,更於2016年,與人民日報海外版簽署合作協議,成為人民日報海外版在加拿大的合作伙伴。

門宗偉熱心服務社區,曾任星輝體育會會長及董事、安省美術學會名譽顧問、安省烈治文山市及萬錦市華商會顧問、加拿大滿地可銀行亞洲諮詢小組委員、多倫多唐人街社區發展協會董事、孟嘗會會長及董事、及社區防止罪案協會董事。

門宗偉現為香港文匯報之海外華文傳媒合作組織常務理事(2007年至今)、全球商報聯盟常務理事(2009年至今) ,聖約翰救傷隊北約克333旅旅長、約克區警察部社區特別資訊服務理事會委員、及加拿大華人廣告市務及傳媒協會董事。

Angle Tso – Director

Angel Tso became a Director of CHKA with the goal of assisting to promote Chinese culture and business trades between Hong Kong and Toronto and to help others and giving back to the local community. Angel is currently a relationship manager at BMO Business Banking where she focuses on providing business owners with sound financial solution.
